About the event
The bike lanes on Blodgett Street were meant to make our neighborhood safer — but they've done the opposite. By reducing one of Houston's busiest streets to a single lane in each direction, they've created gridlock that is blocking emergency vehicles, slowing ambulances, and putting lives at risk. Even more telling, most local cyclists admit they've stopped using the lanes altogether after repeatedly seeing emergency responders use them as the only way through backed-up traffic.
We have an opportunity to say all of this directly to the people with the power to fix it.
On Tuesday, April 28th, at 5:00 PM, community members will have the chance to address city officials at a Houston City Hall meeting regarding the Blodgett Street lane configuration.
