Sunday Reboot

It has been a long time coming but God has been faithful!

Here are a few reminders and things you'll want to know...

Traditional Worship will start at 10:30 am in the Sanctuary (60 people maximum capacity).

  • We will go to a 4 person per pew every other pew system plan in the Sanctuary. Families will be allowed to sit together.

  • Everyone will have to wear a face mask at all times with the exception of participating choir members, speakers on the roster, or participants pertaining to presentations.

  • We are deep cleaning the building regularly and utilizing a sanitizing machine.

We have taken enhanced health and safety measures around campus to keep you safe, however, an inherent risk of exposure to the novel coronavirus exists in any public place where a number of people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease, so please carefully consider your circumstances before deciding whether to attend. According to the CDC, senior citizens and those with underlying medical conditions are especially vulnerable. Remember, as much as we'd like to see you in person if you’re not ready or able to come back yet you shouldn’t feel any pressure or obligation to be in the building. We’ll continue to live stream service at pilgrimchurchhouston.com.  and on our Facebook live format (Pilgrim CUCC).

If you are coming to the church building…

  • Again, it is important that for everyone to wear a face mask and practice strict social distancing when possible. No face mask can eliminate all particles of course, but face masks have been proven to help reduce the transmission of potentially infected particles, and even if you're not experiencing symptoms, you may be asymptomatic carrier of the coronavirus. Remember, if you don’t have a face mask, we will happily give you a disposable one.

  • In addition to disposable face masks, we will continue to provide hand sanitizer which will be stationed in the Narthex.

  • To create as much of a “contactless” environment as possible, we will be following practices that we've had in place for funeral services:

    • Our exterior entrances and exits will be propped open as people enter and leave the building.

    • We will not have coffee service and the water fountains will be turned off.

    • Bulletins will be available, but they will be on tables for you to pick up rather than be handed out by an usher.

    • We will collect tithes and offerings in collection boxes at the entrances rather than passing the offering plate during the services. As always you are encouraged to send your tithe and or offering through our giving app; Givelify or by mail.

Following these safety measures will help protect you and others, and they can slow the spread of COVID-19.  And in the spirit of Philippians 2, which reminds us to do, "nothing out of selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility consider others as more important than yourselves…".  Following these safety measures can also help us show love and care for others by helping reduce concerns others in our congregation may have about gathering.

Please help do your part to keep yourself and others healthy, and to ensure that we can continue to gather in-person.

I'm so excited for our Reboot!

Thank you for your flexibility during this time of uncertainty. Your continued prayers, faithful giving, constant support, and encouragement have helped us to navigate this season together!

As always, please email us at pcucc1@swbell.net if you have any questions.

In Him,

Rev. A.K. Edwards
